Red Sox Walk Off with 6-5 Win

The Pawtucket Red Sox beat the New Vegas Boomers, 6-5 at McCoy Stadium, in part due to third baseman Michael Chavis, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Pawtucket reliever Jenrry Mejia, now 2-1. The loser was Wally Higgins. The Red Sox have an impressive 31-19 record.
Chavis had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Wally Higgins, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Red Sox a 6-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Chavis.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Chavis.
