Muckdogs Stymie Lynchburg, Take 6-1 Win
|
Batavia pitcher Trevor Hillhouse did his part in helping his team beat the Lynchburg Hornets, 6-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Hillhouse got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Hillhouse allowed 1 earned run. Batavia goes to 23-24, Lynchburg to 27-18.
The Muckdogs got a big at-bat from catcher Buster Posey. For the game, Posey went 1-2 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Batavia a 3-1 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Posey said.
