The Batavia Muckdogs got a sterling performance from pitcher Mitch Hart, but the Wizards still prevailed, 3-1. Hart was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Batavia has now lost 4 straight.
Spellborough took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, first baseman Miguel Sano hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Sano. "I just want to win ballgames."
