Black Cats Win at Batavia, 8-3
|
Raimel Tapia helped his team muscle past the Batavia Muckdogs, 8-3. In the game, the Philadelphia left fielder was 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5. Trevor Williams got the win, improving to 5-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. After today's action, Philadelphia sits at 18-24, while Batavia falls to 22-20.
Philadelphia grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Tapia, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2018, hit a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Black Cats out in front, 3-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Tapia.
