Wizards Win 4-3 Walk-Off
|
The Atlantic City Illuminati got a superb performance from pitcher Nick Kingham. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Spellborough. The Wizards won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Kingham was named the player of the game. He threw 11 innings of 5-hit ball. The Wizards bumped their record to 21-20 with this latest triumph.
The Wizards got a big at-bat from designated hitter Bobby Melley. For the game, Melley went 2 for 7 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the 19th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 34th hit of the season gave Spellborough a 4-3 lead.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Melley said.
