Batterologists catcher Chris Betts put his stamp on his team's 7-6 win over the Durham Bull Artists. Betts went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times for Berkeley in the contest. Lewis Thorpe picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-2. He struck out 4 in 7 innings. The save was credited to Jose Valdez, his 4th.

The Batterologists got a big at-bat from left fielder Babe Ruth. For the game, Ruth was 1-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Berkeley a 3-0 lead.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Ruth told the Berkeley Times.

The Batterologists bumped their record to 20-19 with this latest triumph.
