Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Fighting Penguins

Neptune withstood an impressive performance by Berkeley center fielder Byron Buxton to defeat the Batterologists, 5-4, at The Igloo. Buxton went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Neptune reliever Xiao-xuan Liang picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. David Hernandez was collared with the loss. Neptune has now won 3 in a row.
Neptune's win came gift-wrapped. With two out in the bottom of the tenth, with the game tied, Xander Bogaerts reached on an error by the C, driving in 1 run.
"We did enough to win," said Bogaerts.
