Red Sox Lose to Donkey Riders, 7-3
|
It was a fun time at Rogers Centre, where the Pawtucket Red Sox and Canadien Donkey Riders tangled.
Canadien Donkey Riders starter Takahiro Norimoto was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Pawtucket Red Sox, 7-3. Norimoto, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing no earned runs.
Francisco Mejia had a big 2-run double for the Donkey Riders in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Canadien trailing 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Robby Stone and stroked the double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Donkey Riders ahead, 3-2.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Norimoto.
With the win, the Donkey Riders have a record of 19-16.
