The Columbus Legion defeated the Lynchburg Hornets, 6-1, at Hornets Nest today. Leading the charge for Columbus was designated hitter Ed Wilson. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The third-place Legion now have a win-loss record of 17-19.

Wilson had a key at-bat for Columbus early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and gave Columbus an early 2-0 lead.

"I thought we played a nice game," Wilson told the Columbus Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
