Hornets Clip Legion in Tight Contest
The Lynchburg Hornets eked out a 5-4 win versus the Columbus Legion at Hornets Nest. Nobody did more than second baseman Noah Campbell, who captured player of the game honors. Lynchburg reliever Heath Fillmyer was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Joe Ross. The Hornets saw their record improve to 14-20.

Ruddy Giron hit a run-scoring triple off Joe Ross in the bottom of the ninth, which put the Hornets in front, 5-4. Giron had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
