Red Sox Deal Bull Artists Painful Loss
The Red Sox had to overcome a fine effort from Durham pitcher Kolby Allard to grab a narrow 4-3 win at McCoy Stadium. Allard went 6 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Pawtucket reliever Ken Giles got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Phil Klein was tagged with the loss. The Bull Artists fall to 14-18 and continue their wobbly start to the 2022 season.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Pawtucket first baseman Lou Gehrig, facing Phil Klein, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Red Sox the 4-3 win.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Gehrig.
