Hornets Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Pawtucket
Benefiting from Eric Morton's productive game, the Lynchburg Hornets downed the Pawtucket Red Sox, 6-4. Morton went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Hornets. Lynchburg reliever Dan Stevens got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Paco Rodriguez was tagged with the loss. Josh Staumont earned the save for Lynchburg, his 8th of the year.

Had Dan McGill not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, McGill hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Hornets.

McGill told the Lynchburg Daily News: "I was born for the big stage."

The Red Sox fall to 13-17 and continue their lackluster start to the 2022 season.
