Seager Goes Off, But Illuminati Win
|
The Atlantic City Illuminati overcame a good performance by Columbus third baseman Kyle Seager to knock off Columbus, 8-4, at Castel Sant'Angelo. Seager went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Zack Wheeler earned the win to go to 2-1. He allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Craig Kimbrel recorded the save for Atlantic City, his 6th of the season.
Marcell Ozuna swatted a run-scoring double for Atlantic City in the bottom of the fifth. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 4.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Atlantic City manager Chris Hunter.
The Legion fall to 9-16 and continue to sputter in the early going.
