Alleghenys Come Back Late to Top Wizards
Tetsuto Yamada left his imprint on the 6-5 Pittsburgh win against the Spellborough Wizards. Yamada, who leads the EL in triples with 3, went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Pittsburgh reliever Steven Okert was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Drew Smyly. C.J. Edwards earned the save for Pittsburgh, his 8th.

Francisco Lindor went 1 for 3 with a walk for Pittsburgh. The five-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Drew Smyly. It was his 6th RBI of the season.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Lindor said.

The Wizards fall to 9-15 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2022 season.
