Boomers Come Back Late to Clip Legion
New Vegas beat Columbus at Moles Stadium, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Nolan Arenado, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. Reliever Zack Burdi picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ed Dodson took the loss. Kenley Jansen recorded the save for New Vegas, his 5th of the season.

Jack Labosky drew 1 walk for New Vegas. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ed Dodson. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

"We played hard and won," said Arenado. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'

The Legion, now 7-14, continue their poor start.
