Hornets Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Legion
The Columbus Legion and Lynchburg Hornets provided some drama at Legion Ballpark.

The Columbus Legion got a superb performance from pitcher Matt Bowman, but the Lynchburg Hornets still won the game, 5-4. Bowman was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. The Hornets, now 14-5, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Ruddy Giron drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Lynchburg. The 26-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jake Barrett. It was his 8th RBI of the season.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Giron told the Lynchburg News.
