Batterologists Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Jake Lamb made an impact in the 7-5 Berkeley win over Lynchburg. Lamb, who is tied for 6th in the EL in bases on balls with 10, was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Berkeley is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 5th win in 14 games.
The Batterologists got a big at-bat from center fielder Byron Buxton. For the game, Buxton went 2-5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 19th hit of the season gave Berkeley a 5-4 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Lamb after the game.
