Canadien got a terrific performance from designated hitter Seth Beer, but it wasn't enough to beat the Lynchburg Hornets. Lynchburg won the Rogers Centre contest, 7-6. Beer was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Dan Stevens picked up the win. His record improves to 6-6. Wade Davis took the loss. The Hornets bumped their record to 71-66 with this latest triumph.

Lynchburg used the bat of Eric Morton to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hornets ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.

"We think we're a good team overall, so we're not too surprised to win today," said Morton.
