Illuminati Turn Back Berkeley, 3-2

The Berkeley Batterologists got a superb performance from pitcher Nate Karns. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Atlantic City. The Illuminati won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Karns was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Atlantic City reliever Matt Ramsey picked up the win to move to 5-0. Nate Karns suffered the loss. The Illuminati bumped their record to 73-61 with this latest triumph.
The Illuminati got a big at-bat from first baseman Juan Rodríguez. For the game, Rodríguez went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 27th home run of the season gave Atlantic City a 3-2 lead.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Rodríguez told the Atlantic City News.
