Batavia got an elite performance from starting pitcher Nolan Kingham in taking a 4-0 decision over the New Vegas Boomers. Kingham went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 2-2. Cody Allen converted his 24th save in 28 tries.
C.J. Cron, who is tied for 4th in the EL in extra base hits with 67, chipped in for Batavia with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
In postgame comments to the Batavia Gazette, Kingham said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
