Multi-HR Game for Stanton in 7-1 Win
|
The Pawtucket Red Sox defeated the Berkeley Batterologists, 7-1, at McCoy Stadium today. Leading the charge for Pawtucket was right fielder Giancarlo Stanton. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Pawtucket reliever Carter Capps picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-3. Tyson Ross was collared with the loss. Pawtucket has now won 5 straight, while the Batterologists have lost 10 in a row.
Stanton had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Red Sox went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Pawtucket manager David Larence.
