Illuminati Stymie Spellborough, Take 3-1 Win
|
The Atlantic City Illuminati topped the Spellborough Wizards, 3-1, in Fantasy Baseball League of Doom action at Castel Sant'Angelo. The player of the game was Atlantic City pitcher and Knoxville, Tennessee native Patrick Raby. Trevor Rosenthal got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Earning his 1st save for Atlantic City was Turner Larkins.
Jake Fraley drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Atlantic City. The 27-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Dylan Thompson. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Atlantic City manager Chris Hunter. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The Wizards fall to 6-7 and continue their uneasy start to the 2023 season.
